This CD focuses on the music of the trouvères who, like their southern French counterparts the troubadours composed a great number of beautiful songs - many of which have survived. This CD features songs from the different styles of trouvere poetry interspersed with instrumental pieces called estampies.

Medieval and Tudor Dance - £15 + £2 postage and packaging

This Guide for Schools is intended for teachers who are keen to explore the medieval and Tudor periods with their classes. It is especially intended to accompany Tudor studies at Key Stage 2, and medieval studies at Key Stage 3, but some of the simpler branles (Torch, Horse, Clog) can be great fun at Key Stage 1. Detailed descriptions and music are given of eight dances and the music for each, performed on period instruments, is given on an accompanying CD. There are also two extra pieces of music on the CD provided with worksheets to enable children to devise their own 'Tudor' dance.

Sunne in Splendour

The music of the fifteenth century is to be brought to life on this CD. There will be a collection of instrumental pieces and songs, polyphony and monophony from England, France, Burgundy and Italy. There are plans to include the rarely recorded music from the York Mystery Plays. More info on this new project will appear later.

Music for a Tudor Feast - nearing completion - expected December 2009

This CD will feature as many different Tudor age instruments as possible to demonstrate the sounds of Tudor England. There will be examples of courtly music, feasting music, dance music and commoners music. This recording will be useful in schools for teachers presenting Tudor Times at KS2. We intend to produce an accompanying booklet featuring pictures and short histories of the instruments, notated music and classroom activities based on Tudor music.

Reynard the Fox - expected summer 2010

The wily trickster found in many great and comic medieval tales will be the star of a new project. The CD will include three tales of Reynard featuring a variety of characters from the medieval tales including Chanticleer the cockerel, Pertelote the hen, Isengrim the wolf and Primaut the simple wolf.
